“When I started playing golf as a 15-year old I was a natural player who progressed quickly.
I didn’t question what I was doing, I just did it. I sort of knew what to do.

At 16, I turned pro and started to teach. I realised that I didn’t know enough about the swing and started to learn more about technique. I thought that this would also help me play professional golf as I worked to improve my own swing.

Two years later I knew much more about the golf swing but played much worse golf. You could say that I didn’t know how to play any more.

Instead of going back to a more natural way of playing I worked on finding technical solutions in the hope that my problem was still technical. Over the years I found some help in this direction but drove myself further and further from my natural game. Intellectually comforting but practically ineffective. Somehow, I never seemed capable of taking the new swing to the course and into tournament situations.

In fact, I was trying to solve a problem that I had learnt from adopting classic but erroneous swing fundamentals.

This experience showed me the limitations of the technical approach to golf and, over many years of coaching, I now believe that golf is cliché-ridden and that the average player is being held back by too much analysis and too many swing thoughts.

“La Danse du Golf” evolved from my increasing trust in people’s ability to move and coordinate themselves with the club to produce better results. Many years coaching in France led to my clients coming up with this name.

Please let one of our coaches show you just how easy it is to swing a golf club and hit the ball well. As Ernest Jones said in his book ‘Swing the Clubhead’ in 1937 “It sounds so simple, and it is simple. So simple, in fact, that I find it difficult at times to get pupils actually to accept it”.

Well, I hope that Ernest is watching as we help to convince golfers, 70 years on, that it is indeed simple to swing a club well. Hopefully, we also have found ways of getting this message across more rapidly.

I personally oversee all the coaching provided by our Positive Impact Golf coaches. You can put yourself in their hands knowing that I am always available both to them and to you as a support.

I look forward to hearing that you are benefiting from your new coaching and that you are, indeed, enjoying your golf to new levels”.
